This policy explains what happens to data when you use checkinternetspeedtest.com. The short version: we don't collect, store or sell your personal data.
Data we do not collect
- We do not require accounts, and we do not collect names, emails or payment details.
- We do not use advertising networks, tracking cookies, fingerprinting or analytics that profile you.
- We do not transmit your speed test results to us or to any third party for storage.
What stays on your device
Your recent test results (download, upload, ping and the date) are saved in your browser's local storage so you can compare runs over time. This data never leaves your device, is not accessible to us, and can be erased at any time with the "Clear" button next to the results history, or by clearing your browser data.
What the speed test itself sends
To measure throughput, the test transfers data between your device and speed servers operated by Cloudflare, Inc. as part of its global edge network. As with any internet communication, Cloudflare's servers see your public IP address and network routing information, which are handled under Cloudflare's privacy policy. This exchange is the measurement itself — it is how every speed test works — and the data transferred is random, meaningless traffic.
We may also display an optional network summary (your IP address, city and ISP name) so you can see where you tested from. This information is fetched on demand, shown only to you, and not stored by us.
Fonts
This site loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts. Google may log the font request (including your IP address) as described in Google's privacy policy.
Children's privacy
The site is a technical measurement tool, does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, and is safe for use by children.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage.
